Edgar Nuckols

JOHNSON CITY -- Edgar Nuckols, 82, of Jonesborough, died Thursday at his home.
Born in Cripple Creek, Va., he was the son of the late Ellis Pierce and Mary Sawyers Nuckols.
Mr. Nuckols was a member of Marvin's Chapel United Methodist Church.
He retired from the Johnson City Power Board in 1981.
As of April 2008, he was a 60-year member of the I.B.E.W. of Blountville.
"Known as a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, he loved to camp, fish and hunt," his family noted.
He is survived by his wife of more than 63 years: Lucille Wright Nuckols of Jonesborough; two daughters and husbands: Peggy and John Solomon of Mosheim and Lynne and Keith Deakins of Gray; five sons and their wives: Randy and Carolyn Nuckols of Harrison, Danny and Beverly Nuckols of Gray, Gary and Regina Nuckols of Chuckey, Eddie and Barbara Nuckols of Jonesborough, and Tim Nuckols of Johnson City; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister: Laura Lowe of Forest, Va.; a brother: Joseph Nuckols of Woodstock, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Charles "Charlie" Nuckols; and three brothers: Charlie Nuckols, James Nuckols, and Earnest Nuckols.
A celebration of life service was held at 6 o'clock Sunday evening in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services in Johnson City. Pastor Dennis Ford and Pastor Rick Clowers officiated.
A committal service will be held at 1 o'clock this afternoon in Washington County Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be his sons and grandsons.
