Blanche Burgner
Died: July 18, 2008
Blanche Burgner, 88, formerly of the South Central community, Chuckey, died Friday at the Johnson City Medical Center.
She had been a resident of John M. Reed Home in Limestone for the past five months.
A native of Washington County, Mrs. Burgner was a daughter of the late
Sarah and E.D. Saults. She was the widow of Charlie “Buster” Burgner.
She was a member of Liberty Free Will Baptist Church.
Her family stated “She was a homemaker and a loving mother, and had been a caregiver for several relatives.”
Mrs. Burgner is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law: Peggy
Burgner and Joyce and Jerry Laws, all of Chuckey; and several nieces
and nephews.
Mrs. Burgner was preceded in death by three brothers: Dewey Saults,
Arnold Saults, and Ray Saults; and three sisters: Rosa Saults, Nellie
Painter, and Ora Sperrazza.
The family received friends from 5-6 p.m. Sunday at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home.
The funeral service followed visitation at 6 o’clock in the funeral
home chapel. The Rev. Gary Norton and Howard Painter officiated.
A committal service will be held at 1:30 this afternoon in Liberty Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Michael Brown, Nicholas Brown, Rick Wisecarver, Drew Bailey, Frank Whitson, and Brad Whitson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Harlen Painter, Howard Bailey, Rick
Holmes, Dennis and Nancy Kelsoe, Dr. Denise Sibley, and the staff of
John M. Reed Home.
