Paul Lee Carpenter

Died: July 21, 2008

Paul Lee Carpenter, 80, of Greeneville, died Monday afternoon at Greene Valley Developmental Center, where he had been a resident for 32 years.

Mr. Carpenter was a son of the late Hugh and Molly Carpenter.

He is survived by a sister: Trula Denham of Morristown; four brothers: Alvin W. Carpenter of Killen, Ala., Bill Carpenter of Morristown, Glenn Carpenter of Talbott, and Kenneth D. Carpenter of Jefferson City; and his extended family: the "loving and caring" staff of GVDC.

He was preceded in death by three sisters: Mary Sullivan, Zelma Cooke, and Bessie Self; and four brothers: John Carpenter, Claude Hickman, Coolidge "Doc" Carpenter, and Earl Carpenter.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. today at Greene Valley Developmental Center.

A graveside service will be held at 1 o'clock this afternoon in Hamblen Memory Gardens. The Rev. Frankie Isley will officiate.

Rose Hill Funeral Home, Greeneville, is in charge of the arrangements.
