Inez Gillis

Died: July 22, 2008

Inez May Gillis, 85, died Tuesday at Takoma Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Gillis was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

She was the widow of Ray Gillis and was a daughter of the late Davey and Laura Broyles Painter.

She is survived by first cousins: Belle Bowers, Myrlene Steen, Jane Jones, Willie Dunbar, and Charles Dunbar; several second and third cousins; a number of close friends; and her special caregivers: Charles and Heather Jones.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Gary Norton will officiate.

Interment will follow in Liberty Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Hugh Jones, Michael Jones, Charles Jones, Bruce Clark, Marvin Clark, and Billy Greenway.
