Verlyn Leroy Kilts

Verlyn Leroy Kilts, 83, of Davy Crockett Drive, Greeneville, died Wednesday at Signature HealthCARE of Greeneville.
Mr. Kilts was a retired truck driver.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War, serving as a member of an engineering battalion.
Mr. Kilts was the widower of Claudia Kilts and Hortense Kilts.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law: JoAnn Kilts of Greeneville and Linda and David Schoonveld of Clarence, Ill.; five grandchildren and a grandson-in-law: Gayle Kilts, Claudia and Ned Campbell III of Greeneville, Trevor Schoonveld, Jessica Schoonveld, and Max Schoonveld of Clarence; five great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law: Jerry and Jean Kilts of Spirit Lake, Iowa; several nieces and nephews; and his special friends: Gerri Wick, Marge Fischer, the Hartwell family, and Bruce and Linda Fields.
He was a son of the late Florida and Ola Kilts and was preceded in death by a grandson: Michael Meyer; and six brothers: Otis Kilts, Johnny Kilts, Cecil Kilts, Harlan Kilts, Elba Kilts, and Floyd Kilts.
The family will receive friends from noon-1 p.m. Friday at Kiser Funeral Home.
The funeral service will follow visitation at 1 o'clock in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Buster Shelton will officiate.
Interment will follow in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. A military graveside service will be conducted by the Greeneville-Greene County Color Guard.
Pallbearers will be his friends and relatives.
