Died: Sept. 3, 2008

FALL BRANCH -- Dorothy Jean "Ruby" Barrett Simpson, 65, who was living in Mosheim with her special friends and caregivers, Ruth and Billy Hensley, died Wednesday.

She was the widow of Jack Simpson of the Beech Creek community of Hawkins County.

Mrs. Simpson was born Aug. 10, 1943.

Survivors, in addition to Mr. and Mrs. Hensley, include her daughter and son-in-law: Donna and Mohamed Sharief of North Dakota; three grandchildren of North Dakota; her special stepgrandchildren: John Hensley and Jessica Hensley, both of Mosheim; one brother and sister-in-law: Johnny and Judy Barrett of Kingsport; two sisters-in-law: Buena Morelock and Wanda Ferguson; a special niece: Annie Morelock, a special great-niece: Amanda Morelock, a special great-nephew: Jason Morelock, and a special great-great-nephew: Keenan Welhelm, all of Rogersville; one special uncle and his wife: Bruce and Liz Greathouse of Texas; a special great-uncle and his wife: Billie and Alice Harless of Sebastian, Fla.; and her special friends: Mary Jane Fields of Stanley Valley community and Nadine Morelock of Beech Creek.

She was preceded in death by a son, Jody Simpson.

A graveside service will be held at 1 o'clock Monday afternoon in Zion Cemetery in Baileyton. The Rev. Kenneth Thacker will officiate.

Pallbearers will be John Hensley, Jason Morelock, and Johnny Ferguson.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 208 Sunset Drive, Suite 113, Johnson City, TN 37604.
