Hubert James Babb

Hubert James Babb, 86, of Brittontown Road, Afton, died Thursday at Life Care Center of Greeneville.
Mr. Babb retired from Magnavox (Philips Consumer Electronics Co.).
He was a member of Brittontown Church.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years: Fern Babb; two daughters and special sons-in-law: Barbara and Jerry Babb and Eva and Bobby Malone, all of Afton; one granddaughter and her husband: Sandra and Jimmy Painter of Greeneville; two special great-grandchildren: Brooke Painter and Alex Painter; one brother: Homer Babb of Afton; two sisters: a special sister: Dorothy Babb, and Mildred Harrison, both of Greene County; several nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Lloyd and Shelby Jones of Afton.
He was a son of the late Bruce and Carrie Babb and was preceded in death by one sister: Bessie Collins; and five brothers: Carl Babb, Charlie Babb, Marshall Babb, Walter Babb, and an infant.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Kiser Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Saturday morning at Brittontown Church. The Rev. David Dugger and the Rev. Roger Dykes will officiate.
Interment will follow in Cross Anchor Cemetery.
The family will meet at 10:15 at the funeral home to go in procession to the church.
Pallbearers will be Russell Britton, Eugene Duncan, Junior Babb, Gene Babb, Doug Babb, David Babb, and William Babb.
Fred Duncan and Kyle Henry will be honorary pallbearers.
