Clemma Gass Cox
Died: Feb. 15, 2009
Clemma Gass Cox, 69, of Durham-Hensley Care and Rehabilitation Center, formerly of Chuckey, died Sunday at Takoma Regional Hospital.
She retired from Phillips Consumer Electronics Co. after 33 years of service.
Mrs. Cox attended New Haven Church for as long as her health permitted.
She was the widow of Willie Ray Cox, her husband of 39 years who died Nov. 22, 1999.
Survivors include three sons: Donald Cox, Gary Cox, and Roger Cox, all of Chuckey; four grandchildren: Jessica and Eric Lutz, Eric, Brandon Cox, Rachel Cox, and Nathan Cox, all of Greene County; and a first cousin: Kyle Smith of Chuckey, who was "like a brother" to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Thomas Gass and Azalee McAmis; and two brothers.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at New Haven Church with interment in GraceLand Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Ronnie Baxter will officiate.
The body will be taken to the church to lie in state for one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Jeff Peters, Phil Peters, Eric Lutz, Ricky Smith, Shane McMurray, and Tim Bowers.
