Died: June 11, 2009

Douglas Gentry, 66, of Susong Memorial Road, Greeneville, died Thursday at his home.

He was born and raised in the Greystone community, and was a son of the late Flora (Cutshaw) and George Gentry.

Mr. Gentry retired from EcoQuest in 2007.

He was a member of Flag Branch Church of God and the Beersheba Cemetery Association.

"His most cherished times were the times that he had with his grandchildren," his family noted.

Survivors include his wife: Phyllis K. Gentry; a daughter and son-in-law: Lori Lee and Eric Keasling of Greeneville; a grandson: Collin Lee Keasling, and a granddaughter: Kaylee Marie Keasling, both of Greeneville; six brothers and their wives: Gordon Gentry, Carson and Martha Gentry, Bryson and Patricia Gentry, Olen Gentry, Rayven Gentry, and Benny Gentry; four sisters and their husbands: Martha and Brownlow Bowman, Trula and Robert Dunbar, Lola Ricker, Hazel Vernie and Junior Weems; two half-brothers: Clifford Gentry, Elgin Gentry and his wife, Kaye; his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Howard and Mayme Seaton; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Jackie and Carlene Seaton; "many" very special nieces and nephews; several cousins; a number of dear friends, including: Warren and Edna Miller, Byron and Sandra Wheeler, Bobby Joe and Brenda Shipley, and his loving church family at Flag Branch Church of God; and a special friend of the family: Rita Hunt.

He was preceded in death by an infant sister.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. today at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home

The funeral service will follow visitation at 7 o'clock in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Willis Bowers will officiate.

A committal service will be held at 11 o'clock Saturday morning in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 10 o'clock to travel in procession to the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Carson Gentry, Olen Gentry, Rayven Gentry, Benny Gentry, Junior Weems, Bobby Joe Shipley, and Bryon "B." Weller.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Beersheba Cemetery Association, c/o Shirley Reed, 110 New Hope Road, Greeneville, TN 37745.
