Ross Smith

Died: Nov. 4, 2009

Ross Smith, 80, of Ricker Avenue, Greeneville, died Wednesday evening at his home.

Mr. Smith retired from Penske Fleet Rental.

He was a member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church.

Mr. Smith served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife: Barbara Jeane Smith; a son and daughter-in-law: Johnny Gene and Rebecca Smith of Gainesville, Ga.; two granddaughters: Lauren Smith of Atlanta, and Lindsey Smith of Gainesville; two sisters: Faye Gregg and Mildred Ottinger, both of Greeneville; two half-sisters: Emma Sue McMahan and Betty Lou Ottinger, both of Newport; two half-brothers: Everette Smith and J.C. Smith of Newport; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Jim Fain will officiate.

Interment will follow in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Keith Crum, Scottie Knight, Dean Crum, Dennis Bird, Doug Carter, Kenneth L. Sewell, Tyler Bird, and Austin Bird.

Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Kathleen Hutton's Sunday School Class of Pine Grove UM Church.
