Glenn Jones, 68, of Mosheim, died Saturday morning at Takoma Regional Hospital.
He was a member of Brown Springs Baptist Church, where he was a trustee and a member of the early (7:30 a.m.) Sunday school class.
Mr. Jones was a retired machinist from Massengil Machining and was a part-time transporter for the Greene County Sheriff's Department.
He had served on the planning commission for the Town of Mosheim.
Survivors include his wife: Shirley Jones of Mosheim; two daughters and sons-in-law: Gail and Donny Carter of Morristown and Gaye and Eddie Whitehead of Mosheim; two granddaughters: Stacey Goforth and Brooke Whitehead, both of Mosheim; two grandsons and a granddaughter-in-law: Justin and Ashlea Baskette of Mosheim and Daniel Whitehead of Mosheim' one step granddaughter: Ashley Carter of Jefferson City; one great-granddaughter: Madison Goforth of Mosheim; one sister and brother-in-law: Linda and Marcus Kiker of Mosheim; three brothers and sisters-in-law: Doyle and Patty Jones of Mosheim, Bobby and Liz Jones of Greeneville and Dillard and Nancy Jones of St. Clair; six sisters-in-law and their husbands: Ann Jones, Shelby Jones, and Frances and Charles McPherson, all of Mosheim, Lucille Stroud of Illinois, Juanita and Earl Mayes of Knoxville, and Colleen and Tom Lawson of Mohawk; two brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law: J.C. Douthat of Mosheim and Rex and Ruth Douthat of Mohawk; and several nieces and nephews.
He was a son of the late Claude and Lucy Jones, and was preceded in death by two brothers: Kyle Jones and Vernon Jones.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Brown Springs Baptist Church.
The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the church. The Rev. Richard Long and the Rev. Donnie Bible will officiate.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to service.
Pallbearers will Johnny Myers, Neil Matthews, J.D. Ashley, Steve Burns, Frank Waddell, and Terry Rader.
Honorary pallbearers will include the members of the Greene County Sheriff's Department, the employees of the Greene County Detention Center, Bill Myers, the men of Mosheim Senior Citizens Center, and his "buddies at the Rook House."
The Mosheim Chapel of Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
