Died: Nov. 9, 2009

R. Kyle "Big Daddy" Scott, 78, of Liberty Hill Road South, Chuckey, died early Monday morning at his home.

Mr. Scott was a member of Liberty Hill United Methodist Church.

He was a farmer.

Mr. Scott was the widower of Wanda Parker Scott, who died April 6, 2001.

Survivors include one son: Buster Scott of the Liberty Hill community; five daughters and their husbands: Helen and Tommy Cox, Judy and John Barbour, Patricia and David Painter, Nancy and Mike Burns, and Yevette "Betsy" Scott, all of Greene County; his grandchildren: Jeremy Cox, John Hugh Barbour, Beverly Barbour, Beth Ann Burns, and Parker Burns; his great-grandchildren: Jessica Cox, Isaiah Davis, and Bryson Davis; and several nieces and nephews.

He was a son of the late Othea and Fannie Morelock Scott and was preceded in death by an infant son: Jimmy Scott; and two brothers: O.K. Scott and O.T. Scott.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

The funeral service will follow visitation at 8 o'clock in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Dwayne Steele, the Rev. Keith Williams, and the Rev. James Bowers will officiate.

A committal service will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in Liberty Hill Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at 12:30 at the funeral home to travel in procession to the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Mike McAmis, Derrick Letterman, Cody Vannoy, Samuel Morelock, Tim McKay, and Gene Johnson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Reed, Sammy Williams, Bobby Shanks, Doodle Swatzell, John Gray, Johnny Morelock, Joe Sanders, Jackie Sanders, the members and his friends at Liberty Hill United Methodist Church, his friends at 93 Market, Michelle Covington, and the staff of Caris Hospice.
