KINGSTON -- Fred H. Nelson, 90, of Rockwood, died Thursday at Parkwest Medical Center.
Mr. Nelson is survived in Greeneville by a daughter and her husband, Joyce and Doyle Miles.
He was of the Baptist tradition of faith.
"He was a strong believer in the Lord, and was also an avid deer hunter," his family stated.
He was the widower of Dorothy Nelson and Clara Nelson.
Survivors, in addition to a daughter and son-in-law, include two daughters and a son-in-law: Judy and Mike Zumestein of Rockwood, and Helen Cook of Oakdale; three sons and their wives: George and Brenda Nelson of Knoxville, and Freddie and Shellie Nelson and Mark Nelson, all of Rockwood; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; six sisters; and three brothers;
He was preceded in death by two sons: Ricky Nelson and Bobby Joe Nelson; and a daughter: Susie Baird.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to noon today at Kyker Funeral Home in Kingston.
The funeral service will follow visitation at noon in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Wayne Nelson will officiate.
Burial will follow in Old Mount Pisgah Cemetery in Rockwood.
