Nellie Elouise Broyles

Died: Feb. 6, 2010

Nellie Elouise Broyles, 74, of the Chuckey community, died Saturday evening at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.

Ms. Broyles was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Horse Creek Mission Church.

Her family stated, "She was a gentle, quiet, loving person with a sweet smile and beautiful laugh that warmed a room. She loved her Savior, Jesus Christ, her church, family and friends. She enjoyed going places, especially the lake with her youngest daughter and her spouse, Kathy and Johnny Tarlton, with whom she resided. She loved animals and had two special pets, Smokey Joe and Flossie."

Survivors include three daughters and their spouses: Brenda and Eric Hyder of Limestone, Joyce and Dennis Lamb of Chuckey, and her "beloved baby daughter and her spouse who also were her caregivers," Kathy and Johnny Tarlton of Chuckey; one sister: Louise Davis of Chuckey; three grandchildren: Hannah Lamb and Logan Lamb, both of Chuckey, and Zac Hyder of Limestone; and her special friends: Mary and Luke Ball.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Dessie and Sebe Davis; one sister: Janet June Davis; and one brother: Carson Lee Davis.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Kenneth Bowens will officiate.

Interment will follow in Liberty Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Broyles, Robert Holt, Eddie Tarlton, Kenneth Bitner, Johnny Lee Tarlton, and Danny Waites.

Honorary pallbearers will be Stacy Hensley, Dr. Andy Roberts and his staff, Dr. Mandeep Bakshi, the 4 East Nursing Staff of Laughlin Memorial Hospital, the staffs of the cardiology department of Laughlin Memorial Hospital, especially Crystal, and Caris Heathcare.
