BULLS GAP -- Sylvia "Bug" Kite Park, 77, of Bulls Gap, died Saturday at the Johnson City Medical Center.

"She went to be with the Lord," her family stated.

"She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister."

Ms. Park was a member of Philippi Missionary Baptist Church.

She retired from American Enka at Lowland.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law: Shelby and Rick Dyer of Afton; four sons and a daughter-in-law: Jim Park, Tony Park, and Terry Park, all of Bulls Gap, and Tim and Ada Park of Midway; her grandchildren: Traci Tackett, Kristin Dyer, Michael Park, Chrystal Park, Anthony Park Jr., Bert Park, Timothy Park, Holly Park, Brandy Reed, Amanda Murray, Jeremy Fortner, Calvin Quimby, and Dustin Quimby; her great-grandchildren:  Brittany Bell, Michael Bell, Jesse Tackett, Destani Barner, Ava Park, Lyllian Park, Haley Reed, Jordan Reed, and Abigail Murray;a brother and sister-in-law: Ben Kite Sr. and his wife, Bobbie; a brother-in-law: Charles Everhart Jr.; a sister-in-law: Shirley Kite; several nieces and nephews; her special cousins: Charles and Mary Kite; her special friends: Jeanette Paxton, Marge Douthat, Brook Hatchett, and Betty Ray; and special neighbors: Charles Shockley, Angie and Amy Hayes, and Shannon and Leslie Claybough.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Alpha Kite; a granddaughter: Hope Park; four brothers: Charles Kite, Howard Kite, Carl Kite, and Bert Kite Jr.; and a sister: Vivian Everhart.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Bulls Gap Funeral Home.

The funeral service will follow visitation at 8 o'clock in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Carroll Jarnigan will officiate.

A committal service will be held at 11 o'clock Wednesday morning in Philippi Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at 10 o'clock at the funeral home to travel in procession to the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Everhart, Bobby Kite, Jerry Kite, Harold Kite, Johnny Kite, Warren Gentry, and Steven Reed.

Honorary pallbearers will be David Kite, Ben Kite Jr., and Leonard Derry.
