MORRISTOWN - Sallie Elizabeth Collins, age 87, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, following a period of declining health.

Ms. Collins was born in Russellville, and resided the majority of her life in Morristown.

She was a faithful Christian who loved the Lord deeply and was a member of United Christian Church.

She graduated from Whitesburg High School and Tennessee Beauty School in Knoxville.

She served hundreds of customers as a licensed beautician for 48 years as the owner of Sallie's Beauty Shop.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Woodson and Laura Stubblefield; brothers: Andrew "Tom," Roy and Fred Stubblefield; sister: Irene Stubblefield McFadden; and the father of her children: Matthew A. Collins Jr.

Ms. Collins is survived by her five children: Sondra E. Tweed and husband, Garrett "Buster," of Hixson, Brenda S. Flyswithhawks of Santa Rosa, Calif., Thomas M. Collins of Morristown, Marsha A. Woythal and husband, Thomas, of Mason City, Iowa, and Mark A. Collins Sr. and wife, Melinda, of Kingsport; nine grandchildren: Laura E. (Kenneth) Arnold, Amy I. (C. James) Smith, Harriet L. (Frederick) Brunker, Romajean W. Flyswithhawks, Charity M. Collins, Elizabeth G. Woythal, Anna N. Woythal, Mark A. Collins II and John W.M. Collins; eight great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; one brother: Woodson "Woody" Stubblefield Jr. of Greeneville; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:45 p.m. on Sunday at Stubblefield Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m at Stubblefield Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken Peacock officiating.

Graveside services will immediately follow the services at the Hamblen Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the ALPS Adult Day Care Center.

Stubblefield Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
