Clifford 'Bud' Norton

Died: Nov. 11, 2011

Clifford "Bud" Norton, 83, of Greeneville, died Friday at Life Care Center of Greeneville.

He was a retired truck driver from Mason & Dixon Truck Lines and Smith Transfer.

Mr. Norton was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law: Kathy and Bryce Lamb, and Tina and Mark Reynolds of Greeneville; three sons and three daughters-in-law: David and Sue Cox, and Mike and Beth Norton, all of Greeneville, and Wayne and Melinda Norton of Knoxville; two brothers: Joe Norton and Roy Norton, both from Greene County; four sisters and two brothers-in-law: Betty and Dennis Shelton, Pat and Leon Wallace, and Mary Ruth Babb, of Greene County, and Joyce Gilbreath of Enid, Okla; 12 grandchildren: Perry Cox, Teresa Gregg, Angela Corbin, Jamie Greene, Tonya Lisenby, John Norton, Greg Norton, Lisa Greene, Brandi Roach, Ryan Norton, Jordon Norton, and Heather Reynolds; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; stepchildren: Sandra Waddell and Ralph Higgins; a very special friend: Betty Solomon; and special caregivers: Rodney Justice, Nancy Helton, Tiffany Norton, Tonya Rader and Janie White.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years: Agnes Louise Norton, and his second wife: Flora Higgins Norton; his parents: Milburn and Lizzie Miller Norton; three brothers: Louis Norton, Alvie Norton and Harold Norton; two sisters: Marie Norton and Lucille Foshie; and three children: Alma Kay Norton, Allen Ray Norton and Brenda Cox.

The family received friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Jeffers Funeral & Cremation Service, downtown chapel.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Stephen Rutherford, the Rev. Tim Roach, and the Rev. Steve Hux will officiate.

Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Perry Cox, Ryan Norton, Jordan Norton, John Norton, Greg Norton, and David Cox.
