Chloe Gass Smith, 93, of West Pines Road, Afton, passed away Sunday at the home of her daughter, Helen Crews, in Mosheim.
Mrs. Smith had been an employee of the former Sam Moore Chair Company.
She was a member of Union Temple United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Glen and Bernice Smith; two daughters and a son-in-law: Helen and Bobby Crews, and Josephine Malone; her grandchildren and their spouses: Chris and Kandy Graham, Billie Jo Malone, Glenda Malone, Rhonda and Mike McAmis, Misty and David Barkley, and Kim and David Lamb; her great-grandchildren: Nathanial Aiken, Nikkie Reams, Danielle Fincher, Tyler Graham, Michael McAmis, Jamie McAmis, Tanner Collins, Meghan Lamb, and Kaci Franklin; her great-great-grandchildren: Candace Aiken, Chloe Reams, Joe Reams, and Jarrion Isom; and a daughter-in-law: Shirley Smith.
She was the daughter of the late John and Minnie Gass and was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years: Charlie Robert Smith; five grandchildren: Roger Glen Smith, Brian Robert Smith, Donna Franklin, Vickie Mays, and Nancy Annette Smith; four brothers: Luna, Jimmie, Thomas, and Robert Gass; and five sisters: Jane Gass, Hattie Kathern Gass, Bessie Hendry, Pearl Babb, and Dorothy Smith.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Union Temple UM Church with interment in Union Temple Cemetery. The Rev. Richard Bowers and the Rev. Gary Gass will officiate.
Her grandsons will be pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Charles Montgomery, Junior Shackleford, Jimmy Strong, Gene Starnes, and the members of Union Temple UM Church.
