Died: Sept. 26, 2012

JONESBOROUGH -- Marlin G. Gray, age 69, Limestone, passed away Wednesday at his home.

Mr. Gray was born in Washington County, and was a son of the late William A. and Mildred Stills Gray.

He was a member of Telford Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, trustee, Sunday School teacher, and choir member. He sang with an adult choir, the "Golden Heirs."

Mr. Gray was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He was a retired building inspector for the City of Johnson City.

Survivors include his wife: Betty Ratliff Gray of Limestone; one daughter: Ginger Willis and husband, Michael, of Limestone, two grandchildren: Anthony Gray and Leiland Willis; two brothers: Harold Gray and Kenneth Gray (Barbara); three sisters: Wanda Stells (Dowyn) of Texas, Sue Foster (Lester) of Limestone, and Vivian Baker (Doug) of Johnson City; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Marilyn Narron.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home in Jonesborough with the funeral service following at 8 p.m. Pastor Buddy Jones will officiate.

Interment services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Philadelphia Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chris Gray, Daniel Foster, Doug Baker, Roger Smith, Scott Johnston, and Mike Whaley.
