Died: Sept. 28, 2012

Shirley Glee Smith Underhill, 73, of Greeneville, went to her heavenly home Friday at Signature HealthCARE of Greeneville.

Singing gospel music and playing the piano was her passion. She sang at many churches, nursing homes, and hospitals with her father. She sang with the "Tonette Trio," with which she was able to sing at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville and other famous musical arenas.

Survivors include three daughters: Tammera A. Stroud of Greeneville, Candra Kiehna of Spotsylvania, Va., and Angela Stroud of Greeneville; five grandchildren: Joseph Henry Kiehna, Kyra Beth Kiehna, Margaret Anne Kiehna, Zachary D. Palmer, and Lindsey Beth Palmer; three brothers: Frank "Ron" and Shirley Smith of Sulphur Springs, Joe and Shelby Smith of Greeneville, and Randall R. Smith of Atlanta; a sister: Aundrea Reynolds of Afton; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend: Frances Carder.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Jim and Daisy Smith; her husband: Guy Underhill; and a son-in-law: Richard Kiehna.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Jeffers Funeral & Cremation Service, downtown.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the downtown chapel of the funeral home with interment in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. The Rev. Steve Hux and the Rev. Nick Bailey will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Henry Kiehna, Jimmy Smith, Dan Jeffers, John Bright, Garren Taylor, and Steve Hux.
