BULLS GAP -- Lillie Pearl Smith, age 85, of Bulls Gap, passed away Saturday at her home, surrounded by her family.
She was a Christian and was of the Baptist faith.
She retired from Greene Valley Developmental Center after 20 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Elmer and Cora Holland Dean; a great-granddaughter: Ashley Lynette Sauceman; and three sisters: Helen Gray, Stella Mae Richards, and Rosie Davenport.
She is survived by four children: Jenny Jinks of the home, Barbara (James) Sauceman of Mosheim, Tricia (Dale) Knight of the Orebank community, and Phil (Peg) Smith of West Milton, Ohio; a sister: Betty Lou Mallory of Bulls Gap; her grandchildren: Cheryl (Steve) Barnes, Marsha (Jimmy) Crum, Misty (Kenny) Heaton, Hal (Cookie) Sauceman, Bradley (Jada) Sauceman, Teresa (Matt) Hensley, Melissa Knight, Jason Knight, Doug Smith, Tyler Smith, Jeffery (Misty) Smith and Don (Sim) Smith; her great-grandchildren: Jayma, Steven, Wesley, Adrian, Aryn, Harley, Ashley, Kayla, Tiffany, Brandon, Tara, Alex, Lily, Leah, Bryar, Ashley, Jessica, Zack, Phillip, Rick, Alex, and McKenzie; and several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Caris Hospice for their love and care during their time of need.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today in the chapel of Bulls Gap Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 8 p.m. The Rev. Sonny Beaver and the Rev. Richard Long will officiate.
Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday to go in procession to Tieke Cemetery for a 1 p.m. graveside service.
Pallbearers will be Hal Sauceman, Bradley Sauceman, Jimmy Crum, Jason Knight, Steve Barnes, Jeff Smith, Don Smith, Adrian Sauceman, Bryar Knight, Alex Hensley and Matt Hensley.
