Died: Sept. 28, 2012

John H Cox, 49, of the Stone Dam community, passed away Thursday at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.

Survivors include his father: John B. Cox and wife, Carmen, of Kingsport; two sisters: Karen and Rusty Buck of Kingsport and Heather and Marty Schwartz; a brother: Christopher Cox of Kingsport; a stepsister: Nicole Jessen; three stepbrothers: Michael Jessen of Gray, Brandon Jessen of Kingsport, and Alan Jessen of New York City; his grandmothers: Cleda Cox and Hazeline Bonnie Tilson; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by mother: Brenda Tilson Cox; and his grandfathers: John Cox Sr. and Homer Tilson.

The family expressed a special thanks to those who cared for him.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at Jeffers Funeral & Cremation Service, Afton Chapel with a memorial service following. The Rev. Mike Young will officiate.

Interment will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
