Tammy Starcher Wood

Died: Oct. 2, 2012

Tammy Starcher Wood, 51, of Greeneville, passed away Tuesday at Takoma Regional Hospital.

Tammy was a loving mother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend to all who knew her.

She was a devoted Christian, who loved sharing God's word and had a passion for talking, calling, or texting to request prayers for others who were sick, injured, or in need.

Her favorite song as she quoted was "Just As I Am." Tammy had a heart of love and giving; she was a very special person, who was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include two sons: Elijah and Isaiah Wood of Greeneville; a daughter: Hannah Wood of Greeneville; her stepmother: Linda Starcher of Henderson, Texas; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Pamela and Isidro Sanchez of Pigeon Forge, Gina and Clay Gentry and Cathy and Kevin Johnston, all of Henderson; a brother and sister-in-law: Bobby and Judy Davila of Henderson; her nieces and nephews: Summer and Jacob Watkins, Jeffrey and Suezanna Jennings, and Yolonda and Felipe Granados-Sanchez, and several nieces and nephews in Texas; her aunts and uncles; Charlotte and Chester Carmack of Afton, Shelba Fillers, Brenda and Roy Roberts, Teresa and Billy Banks, Kay and Dick Freshour, Frances and Roy Waddell, and Fannie Norton, all of Greeneville, and Margaret Gregg of Parrottsville; several special cousins; her special friends: Harold and Tonya Wood, Mike Chandley, Jeff Jennings, and Sharon Hickman; and her other special friends: the staff of Caris Hospice.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Gene Starcher and Georgia and John Kaczor; a sister: Kema Watkins; her grandparents: Harold and Lena Starcher and Bill and Susie Gregg; and her uncles: Richard, H.D., and Preston Starcher and Fred and Ted Gregg.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the ICU staff of Takoma Regional Hospital, and to Amedisys Hospice of Greeneville for the help and compassion they provided to everyone.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Jeffers Funeral & Cremation Service, downtown.

A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. in Cedar Creek Cemetery. The Rev. Danny Ricker and the Rev. Claude Swatzell will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Brock Church, Brandon Ivey, Nicholas Roberts, Logan Morrison, Preston Starcher, and Allen Starcher.

Honorary pallbearers will be Chester Carmack, Roy Roberts, Billy Banks, Jeff Jennings, Harold Wood, James Wood, and Isidro Sanchez
