Died: Oct. 5, 2012

Lula Mae Harris, 88, of Simpson Street, Greeneville, passed away Friday evening at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Harris was a lifelong nurse and a homemaker.

She was a member of Greeneville First Free Will Baptist Church.

She was a lifelong caregiver and loved to take care of people. She also loved to attend her church when she was able.

Survivors include her son: Terry Lee Harris of Greeneville; her daughter and son-in-law: Norma Jean and Dennis William Cantrell of Marshall, N.C.; her grandchildren: Karen Morgan, Deana Stephens, and Denise King; seven great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Marie Brown and Mary Frank Harmon.

She was the daughter of the late Elbert and Nora Cutshaw Dixon and was preceded in death by her husband: Grady Harris; her grandson: Robert Anthony Harris; six brothers: Porter Dixon, Major Dixon, General "G.H." Dixon, J.T. "Buck" Dixon, and two infants; and four sisters: Una Dixon, Malcena Blake, Irene Renner, and an infant.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 8 p.m. in the chapel. The Rev. Brad Seaton will officiate.

A committal service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Andrew Johnson National Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery.

Per her wishes, the casket will remain closed during the visitation and service.
