Barbara E. Hopson

Barbara E. Hopson, 74, of Greeneville, passed away Tuesday at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.

She was a member of Gethsemane United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband: Duard Hopson of Greeneville; two sons: Cecil Hopson and Gina Briscoe of Greeneville and Marty and Amy Hopson of Greeneville; a daughter: Marianna Hopson of Sanford, N.C.; her grandchildren: Dillon Hopson, Luke Hopson, and Jesse Hopson; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Dennis and Joyce Hopson, Hugh Hopson, Gene and Betty Hopson, and Bernice Waites; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters: Geneva Hopson and Almeda Jones; and two brothers: Audrey Fanning and Jay Fanning.

The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday at Jeffers Funeral & Cremation Service, downtown.

The funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Gethsemane UM Church with interment in Gethsemane Cemetery. The Rev. Jay Hugh Jennings will officiate.

Friends will be pallbearers.
