Mary Ruth Benton

Died: Oct. 29, 2912

Mary Ruth Benton, 67, of Baileyton, passed away Monday at Takoma Regional Hospital.

She retired from Plus Mark Inc./American Greetings.

Survivors include three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Velma Benton, Edna and Ken Starnes, and Bonnie Rector Shipley and Walter Shipley; her very special cousin: Rosetta McLain; her nieces and nephews: Allen Benton, Lurkia Severt, Jonathan Starnes, Delores Farris, and David and Kathy Rector; 14 great-nieces and great-nephews; and a special great-niece: Jessica Rector Valentine.

She was a daughter of the late Mary Benton and Vic and Maxie Mowell, who helped raise her; and her nephew: Dan Rector.

The family expressed a special thanks to Dr. Claes Svendson.

The family will receive friends from 1-3 and 4-7 p.m. today at Jeffers Funeral & Cremation Service, downtown, with the funeral service following at 7 p.m. in the chapel. Pastor Billy Moore will officiate.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Salem Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be David Rector, Gary Rector, Brandon Farris, Ken Starnes, Brian Farris, and Allen Benton.
