Ella Mae Harmon

KINGSPORT -- Ella Mae Harmon, affectionately known as "Granny Mae" passed away Tuesday.

She was born in Greene County and lived most of her life in the Kingsport area.

Mae was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years: Lyle Harmon; two infant children; parents: W.R. and Mary Emily Britton; two sisters: Sue Brown and Mildred Malone; and two brothers: Bill Britton and Lionel Britton.

She is survived by her daughter: Carol Anderson and husband, Bruce, of Kingsport; her son:, Charles Harmon and wife, Sharon, of Kingsport; her grandchildren: Kim Anderson, Janet Anderson, Jeff Harmon and wife, Lisa, Christy Coffey and husband, Travis, and Lisa Reed and husband, Sean; her great-grandchildren: Nicole Shults and husband, Rick, Dustin Marshall, Stefanie Mann, Charlotte Mann and husband, Scott, Patrick "Bubba" Williams, Jana Perry, Mackenzie Coffey, Logan Coffey, Colby Reed, Bailey Reed, Trais Harmon, Alex Harmon and Courtney Harmon; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters: Mary Malone and Patricia Brown, both of Greeneville; a brother: John Britton of Jacksonville, Fla.; and three sisters-in-law: Lena Harmon and Hazel Vineyard, both of Morristown, and Louise House of Lenoir, N.C.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Colonial Heights United Methodist Church with the funeral service following at 4 p.m. The Rev. Robert Burlingham will officiate.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Cross Anchor Cemetery in Greene County. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery before 10:15 a.m.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Harmon, Travis Coffey, Sean Reed, Dustin Marshall, Patrick Williams and Freddie Malone.
