Died: Nov. 3, 2012

Ralph Edward Thompson, 64, of Afton, passed away Saturday morning at his home.

Ralph was a faithful employee of DTR-Tennessee, Inc.

He attended Fairview Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife: Jo Ann Swecker Thompson; his son and daughter-in-law: David and Becky Thompson of Greeneville; his grandsons: Ryan Thompson, Elijah Bell, and Wesley Newman; a granddaughter: Deven Newman; his mother: Dorothy Thompson of Greeneville his stepmother: Anne Thompson of Knoxville; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Nancy Shelton and friend, Jim Massey, of Greeneville, and Mollie and Chris Seay of Knoxville; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Shirley and Lowell Gregg of Greeneville; a stepdaughter: Renee Danielle Swecker; and several nieces, nephews, uncles, and aunts.

He was the son of the late Edward Thompson and was preceded in death by his first wife: Mae Pleasant Thompson; and his brother: David Lynn Thompson.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 5-8 p.m. today at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Ronnie Duncan will officiate.

Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in the Horse Creek community.

Pallbearers will be Max Womac, Jim Massey, Roger Pleasant, Lowell Gregg, Gary Hartman, Jerry Ripley, and Joe Armstrong.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Waddell, Calvin Hawkins, Gary Burgner, Haskell Waddle, his friends of the Horse Creek community, the members of the Lamplighter Class of Fairview CP Church, and his co-workers at DTR.
