Dorothy Marie (Pridemore) Cox, 68, of Lonesome Pine Trail, Greeneville, passed away Saturday morning at her home.
Mrs. Cox retired from Magnavox after 39 years of service.
She was a faithful member of Brown Springs Baptist Church in Mosheim as long as her health permitted and was a member of the Pearl Tunnell Sunday School Class.
Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law: Debbie and Mark Brooks of Mosheim and Diane Cox of the home; a son and daughter-in-law: Danny and Debbie Cox of Midway; her grandchildren and spouses: Mark and Brandy Brooks Jr., Cassie and Will Hudson, Sasha Cox, Daniel and Amanda Cox, Michael and Stephanie Cox, and John Cox; her great-grandchildren: Skyler Spears, Trey, Talan, and Jaelyn Brooks, and Aiden, Kayle, and Keyston Cox; seven brothers and sisters-in-law: George W. and Kitty Pridemore of Livingston, Ky., Grover and Lucille Pridemore, John and Sylvia Pridemore, Franklin Pridemore, and Don Pridemore, all of Greeneville, and Kenneth and Doris Pridemore and Paul Pridemore, all of Morristown; three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Martha Ruth and Harry Jones and Georgia and Ronald Hopson, all of Greeneville, and Helen Morgan of Chuckey; several nieces and nephews; and many special friends.
She was the daughter of the late Dan H. and Laura Pridemore and was preceded in death by her husband: Edward Ray Cox; a son: David Ray Cox; two brothers: Junior and James Pridemore; and a sister: Pearl Gass.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. today at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 8 p.m. in the chapel. The Rev. Richard Long will officiate.
Family and friends will meet at 1:20 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home to go in procession to Hardins Chapel Cemetery for a 2 p.m. committal service.
Pallbearers will be Mark Brooks Jr., Daniel Cox, Michael Cox, John Cox, Will Hudson, and James Spears.
Honorary pallbearers will be her friends and neighbors, the staff at Johnson City Medical Center, and the staff of Mountain States Hospice.
