Sarah Gibbs Peltier

Died: Nov. 1, 2012

Sarah Gibbs Peltier, 60, of the Ottway community, went home to her final resting place Thursday surrounded by the loving family at Morristown Hamblen Hospital.

After a successful career with SELEE Corp. in Hendersonville, N.C., she retired in 2007 to the Ottway community to enjoy her retirement with her husband, Dan F. Peltier, and to raise miniature donkeys.

Diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer in 2011 she continued to live her life to the fullest and enjoy each day that God blessed her with.

Survivors include her loving husband and caregiver: Dan F. Peltier, whom she always said was truly the love of her life, one of God's blessings to her. She was also blessed with a loving daughter and son-in-law: Carrie McGraw Israel and Tim; and a son and daughter-in-law: Stephen and Jenny McGraw (Both of her children spent every possible moment with her until she passed, caring for her and encouraging her to fight the good fight.); a stepgrandson: Daniel A Peltier, whom she raised from the age of 2 as one of her own; three beautiful and loving granddaughters: Sierra Rose Wright, Meredith Anne Israel, and Amy Corrine Israel; a grandson: Trey McGraw; a great-granddaughter: Camdyn Alyssa Israel; three stepdaughters: Tammy McCamey, Daneen Fillers, and Angie Miller; four stepgrandsons; a stepgranddaughter; a very special adopted mother: Pauline Corn of Hendersonville; three brothers and sisters-in-law: Clarence and Teresa Gibbs of Cosby, Richard and Andy Gibbs of Thorn Hill, and William and Jayne Gibbs of Lees Summit, Mich.; two sisters and a brother in law: Blanche and Jesse Swain of Mills River, N.C., and Rebecca Farmer of Marion, N.C.; two brothers and three sisters-in-law: Ted and Margaret Peltier, William and Kathy Peltier, and Nancy Peltier; her little companion: "Miss Daisy"; her very special friends: Jim and Pat Holbrook, Jack and Brenda Cobble, Joe and Dee Low, Bob Foulks, and Shelby Gass; a loving church family; and many other friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence P. and Ethel W. Gibbs, in Henderson County, N.C.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, at Ottway United Methodist Church. The Rev. Donna Waddle will officiate.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Ottway UM Youth or to the Ottway UM Church Building Fund, 2650 Ottway Road, Greeneville, TN 37745.

At Sarah's request, her body will be cremated.
