Betty Lou Bishop, 75, of Woodlyn Street, Greeneville, passed away Monday morning at the Johnson City Medical Center.
She was retired from the dietary department at Laughlin HealthCare Center.
She was of the Methodist faith, Her home church was Stone Dam United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Bishop was a member of the Jolly Green Campers, National Campers & Hikers Association.
She was a quiet, simple, loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. Her grandchildren were her life.
Survivors include her husband: Melvin D. Bishop; two sons and daughters-in-law: Bobby and Frances Arrington and Rex and Leigh Ann Arrington, all of Greeneville; three grandchildren: Chad Arrington of Greeneville, Dr. Joshua Arrington of Lexington, S.C., and Annie Arrington of Greeneville; a stepson: Gary Bishop of Greeneville; five sisters: Peggy Mullins, Dorithy Cox, Carolyn Ottem, Linda Duncan, and Brenda Couch; and one brother: Jimmy Dale Campbell.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Howard and Naoma Campbell; one brother: George Campbell; and one sister: Geneva Hensley.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today and Wednesday at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel. Ministers Jeff McNabb and Scott Wakefield will officiate.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Thursday to go in procession to GreeneLawn Memory Gardens for the 11 a.m. committal service.
Active pallbearers will be Ralph Higgins, Ricky Finkle, Mark Duncan, Joshua Arrington, David White, Billy Joe Mullins, Ted Hensley, and Ricky Shelton.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of Jolly Green Campers.
