Dr. Kevin Smith

Dr. Kevin Smith, 58, of Greeneville, formerly of Travelers Rest, S.C., passed away Wednesday at the home of his brother, Dr. Brian Smith.

He graduated from Vanderbilt University College of Medicine and went on to practice medicine in South Carolina for several years.

Dr. Smith loved farming, hunting, and growing things.

Survivors include his mother: Dorothy Beryl Smith; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Dr. Brian Smith and Carol Smith of Greeneville and David A. and Jeanine Smith of Artesia, Miss.; a sister: Sharon K. Smith of Dallas, Texas; his nieces and nephews: Rachel, Jared, Alyssa, Mariah, and Kerry Smith; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Lynn B. Smith; and a brother, Kerry Judd Smith.

Family and friends will gather from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 17, at Jeffers Funeral & Cremation Service, downtown.

At Dr. Smith's request, his body has been cremated.
