Samuel Buddy Swecker

Died: Nov. 9, 2012

Samuel Buddy Swecker, 78, of Baughard Hill Road, died Friday at James H. Quillen Veterans Affairs Medical Center at Mountain Home.

Buddy retired from the Mosheim Post Office and was farmer.

He was a director at Greene County Farmers Mutual.

Buddy was a veteran of the U. S. Army.

Survivors include one son: Steve Swecker; three grandchildren: Alex, Anthony, and Michelle Swecker; four great-grandchildren: Adara Hensley, Clarissa Price, Gabriella Price, and Julia Swecker; one sister and brother-in-law: Peggy and Tony Grooms; one brother and sister-in-law: Billy and Doris Swecker; several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew and his wife: Shannon and Linda Swecker; and special friends, including: his "breakfast buddies" at Fat Boyz, Emily Swecker, Bobby Price, Jim Cox, and Charles Kyker.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Howard and Lucille Swecker; and one sister: Mary Jane Swecker.

The family received friends from 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home.

Funeral services followed at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Richard Long officiated. Family and friends met at Mosheim Central Cemetery at 11 a.m. today for a committal service.

Honorary pallbearers were Jim Cox, Tony Grooms, Gary Lowery, Logan Lowery, Bobby Price, Wayne Hartman, Charles Kyker, and the employees of the Mosheim Post Office and Greene County Farmers Mutual.
