Steve Hendrickson

Died: Nov. 12, 2012

Steve Hendrickson, age 60, of Greeneville, passed away suddenly Monday at his home of heart arrhythmia.

He was a native of Moline, Ill., a son of the late Clarence "Hank" and Jerry Viaene Hendrickson.

He was a graduate of Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, and a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity.

He was employed by John Deere Power Products from 1972 to 2001, beginning his career in Moline. Steve later transferred to Greeneville, where he was plant manager.

From 2003 until 2011, he was an investment broker for Edward Jones in Jonesborough. Since 2011, he had been an investment broker with Andrew Johnson Bank in Jonesborough. He was a certified public accountant.

Steve was a past president of the Greene County Partnership and former chairman of the United Way of Greene County.

Steve was president-elect of the Jonesborough Civitan Club and a former member of Jonesborough Rotary Club.

He was a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church and was the treasurer of Catholic Charities.

Steve was proud to have twice survived cancer. He was a loving husband, enjoyed golfing with friends and his sons and spending time with all his family.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years: Cindy Hendrickson; two sons and daughters-in-law: Christopher and Meredith Hendrickson of Nashville and Nicholas and Amelia Hendrickson of Knoxville; three grandchildren: Griffin, Olivia, and Braxton Hendrickson; one sister: Susan Just of Moline; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Craig and Kathy DeBo of Bettendorf, Iowa; his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Richard and Jeanette DeBo of Moline; his nieces and nephews and their spouses: Nate and Tami Just and Audrey Just, all of Moline, Courtney and Matt Conklin of Brazil, and Carly DeBo of Chicago, Ill.; an aunt: Lois Viaene of Moline; several cousins; and special friends: Tom and Vicky Cole, Bill and Pat Niemuth, and his John Deere golf buddies.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home. A vigil service will follow at 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Notre Dame Catholic Church. The Rev. Jim Harvey will officiate.

Interment will be private.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Hendrickson, Nicholas Hendrickson, Craig DeBo, Nathan Just, Tom Cole, Bob Gay, David Cowles, and Bill Niemuth.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Building Fund of Notre Dame Catholic Church, the American Cancer Society, or the March of Dimes.
