Paul Smith

Joseph "Paul" Smith, 78, of Mohawk, passed away Saturday morning at his home.

Mr. Smith was a retired mechanic and farmer.

He was a member of Concord Baptist Church, where he served as a trustee.

He was the son of the late Joseph Isaac "Ike" and Grace Crosby Smith and was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn June Robeson Smith.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Steve and Rita Smith of Mohawk; two daughters and sons-in-law: Paula Gail and Billy Chandler of Midway and Alice Ann and Paul Rasnic of Morristown; three grandsons: Billy Frank Chandler and Joseph Randall Chandler of Midway and Jacob Henley Rasnic of Morristown; a stepgranddaughter: Kristen McGaha of Mohawk; a brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law: R.E. and Patsy Robeson of Morristown and Laura Robeson of Talbott; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 8 p.m. in the chapel. The Rev. Larry Jones and Ronnie Rednour will officiate.

Family and friends will meet at the Crosby Family Cemetery at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday for an 11 a.m. committal service.
