David Ellis Barham, age 59, of Forest Hills Drive, went home to be with Jesus Monday evening in the emergency room at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.
He was a member of Doughty's Chapel Church.
David preached and sang in various churches over the last 33 years. He loved God and his family.
He worked hard as a truck driver to provide for his family as long as his health permitted.
His grandchildren were the joy of his life.
Survivors include his wife: Diann Barham; two daughters and one son-in-law: Sarah and Andy Powers of Lansing, N.C., and Hope Barham and her boyfriend, Cody Fann, of Greeneville; one son and daughter-in-law: Michael and Julia Barham of Knoxville; one granddaughter: Bethany Powers; one grandson: Levi Powers; two brothers: Ted Barham and his wife, Mary Sue, of Greeneville, and Frankie Barham of Johnson City; two sisters: Grace Waddell of Greeneville and Helen Sikora of Johnson City; and one brother-in-law: David "Buddy" Rogers of the South Central community.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Willis and Josephine Barham; one sister: Frances Rogers; and a brother-in-law: Vincent Sikora.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. today at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Charles Ervin and the Rev. Jason Nunley officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Michael Barham, Andy Powers, Jeff Mull, Cody Fann, Robert Mull, Russell Sikora, Tony Roberts, and Tim Shelton.
