FALL BRANCH -- Mescal Steadman
Robbins, 87, Fall Branch, passed away Tuesday at Wexford House after a long illness.
She lived most of her adult life in Fall Branch and was a member of First Baptist
Church of Fall Branch for 66 years.
She was preceded in death by her
parents: the Rev. J.A. and Edith Shanks Daugherty; her stepmother: Irene Daugherty; two husbands:
Harvey C. Steadman and Rondal Ray Robbins; a son: Richard Keith Steadman; three grandchildren:
Michael James Steadman, Blandon Kane Steadman, and Mescal Irene Harper; a sister: Lorene Chandler; a
brother, Herbert Daugherty; and four brothers-in-law: Charles Monk, Arnold Chandler, Bill Dean and
Don Dean.
Mescal is survived by a son: Michael (Kathy) Steadman; a
daughter: Teresa Harper; five sisters: Pauline Monk of Chuckey, Jewell Dean of Greeneville, Jannett
Dean and Helen (Bill) Nuckles of California and Wanda (Bobby) Hoyle of Kentucky; two brothers:
Lowell (Eleanor) Daugherty of California, and Elmer (Laura) Daugherty of Greeneville; a
sister-in-law: Lucille Daugherty of Texas; several nieces and nephews; and two godchildren: Molly
and Adam Wilson.
The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m.
Saturday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Fall Branch, with the funeral service following at 3 p.m.
The Rev. Carl Strickler and the Rev. Victor Wallace will officiate.
Burial will follow the funeral service at Fall Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her nephews; Joe Daugherty, John Daugherty, Dave
Monk, Wayne Chandler, Rodney Dean, Allen Hoyle, Patrick Hoyle, Alex Nuckles and Billy Nuckles.
Jonathan Muggett will be an honorary pallbearer.
