Ralph R. Markwood Jr.

Died: Nov. 21, 2012

WATERFORD, Mich. -- Ralph R. Markwood Jr., of Clarkston, passed away Wednesday at age 85.

Ralph was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and proud member of the LST Association.

He retired from Grand Trunk Railroad, was a longtime member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church, and the Bible Breakfast Club.

Ralph touched many in his 57 years as a friend of Bill W.

He was the beloved husband of the late Genevieve; dear father of Kathrine (Tom) Byers, Ralph "Mark" Markwood III, Theresa (Donald) Stills of Greeneville, Tenn., Walter Markwood, Judy Dougherty, Michelle (Dan) Amsbaugh and Theadore "Ted" Markwood; dear brother of Betty Soldwich, Jack (Dee) Markwood, Mildred (Richard) Coates and James (Sandy) Markwood. He is survived by 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Six sisters and a brother preceded him in death.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Sunday and from 4-9 p.m. Monday at Coats Funeral Home, Waterford.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 3795 Sashabaw Road, in Waterford.

Interment and military honors will follow in Crescent Hills Cemetery, Waterford.
