Mike Bender

Died: Nov. 21, 2012

Michael "Mike" Bender Sr., 48, of the Stone Dam community, passed away Wednesday at his home.

He worked at Plus Mark Inc. for more than 20 years.

He was a 1982 graduate of Chuckey-Doak High School.

Survivors include two sons: Michael "Kevin" Bender Jr. and Tristan Ivan Bender; a daughter: Michaela Rose Bender; a sister and brother-in-law: Diann and Bryan Sherrill of Greeneville; a brother and sister-in-law: Mark and Andrea Bender of Seymour; his aunts and an uncle: Reba Kilday and Homer and Phyllis Ball; special friends: Tim Yokley and David Justis; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was a son of the late Nancy Ripley.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Jeffers Funeral & Cremation Service, Afton Chapel, with the funeral service following at 8 p.m. Pastor Michael Vaughn will officiate.

Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday to go in procession to Stone Dam Cemetery for an 11 a.m. committal service.

Pallbearers will be David Justis, Steven Richards, Frank Giglio, Phil Ball, David Peake, and Steven Peake.

Honorary pallbearers will be T.J. Culler, Rick Thompson, Bryan Sherrill, and the members of the press department at Plus Mark.
