Muzetta Ruth Johnson, 96, a lifelong resident of Greeneville, passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.

She was a very devoted, loving, and caring mother, who will be missed dearly, but who will always be loved and remembered.

She retired from "Watson's" (Ira A. Watson Co. Department Store) after many years of dedicated service.

Survivors include one daughter: Judy A. Thomas; a son: Gary M. Johnson; two grandsons: Jeremy C. Johnson and Rodney Wallin; a granddaughter: Rachael L. Tullock; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a special friend: Julia Hubbard.

She was preceded in death by her husband: James C. "JC" Johnson; a son: James H. Johnson; her parents: Charles and Bessie (Wilhoit) Holley; a brother: Edgar Holley; sisters: Josephine Holley and Grace Nichols; and a very special son-in-law: David F. Thomas.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Thomas Beckner, Allison Gass, and Cindy Fisher for all their years of great care and concern and also, to the very caring and wonderful staff of 4 West of Laughlin Memorial Hospital.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. today at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home.
