Alpha Marlene Brookshire, age 91, of the Greystone community, died Monday at Signature HealthCARE of Greeneville.
She retired from George C. Moore Company. She had worked for Southern Packing and was a caretaker for the elderly.
She was a member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church on Park Street, where she and her late husband, Ray Brookshire, attended as long as their health permitted.
She attended Roby Fitzgerald Adult Center for several years.
Mrs. Brookshire was a loving, Christian mother to her whole family.
She was preceded in death by her husbands: Clark Fellers, Burnett Caldwell, and Ray Brookshire; her parents: Sam and Bonnie McCoy; one daughter: Mary Ann Cornwell; three sons: Jerry Fellers, Jerald Caldwell, and Reginald Caldwell; a son-in-law: Jerry Dean; and Pete Wills.
Survivors include daughters: Faye Dean, Regina Ward, and Rebecca Jones; sons: Ronald Fellers and his wife, Cathy, Marty Caldwell and his wife, Becky; grandchildren: Danny and Bridgette Miller, Susie Harrison, Mitzi Adams, Jerri Downes, Jennifer Dean, Tracie Tullock, Robbie Tino, Bobbie Jo and Jason Smith, Peter Wills, Bobby Gene Fillers, Anthony Fillers, Frannie Feezel, and Chelsey Feezel; several great-grandchildren, including Sheena Wright, Mandy Harris, Kristi Reagan, Dylan Bolton, and Zaire Miller; and several great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. today at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 7 p.m. in the chapel. The Rev. Chris Newton, the Rev. Troy Cutshall, and the Rev. Jim Fields will officiate.
Interment will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Andrew Johnson National Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Danny Miller, Jerald Fellers, Peter Wills, Dylan Bolton, Jason Smith, and Sammy Tino.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. James R. McKinney and the staff of Signature HealthCARE.
