James Carson Ramsey Sr., 65, of Hammitt Road, Bulls Gap, passed away peacefully Tuesday at his home.
He loved going to horse shows, showing horses, and coon hunting.
He worked at America Enka in Morristown.
He was a member of Walkers Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son: Richie Ramsey of Bulls Gap; two daughters and sons-in-law: Melissa and Bill Warner of Bulls Gap and Crystal and Jeremiah Daniels of Mohawk; three brothers and sisters-in-law: Charles and Nell Ramsey of Midway, and Bob and Barbara Ramsey and John and Deloris Ramsey, all of Bulls Gap; his grandchildren: Ashley Bonds (Jeremy), Alexis and Taylor Ramsey, Gracie Seaton, Dustin and Lindsey Collier, Chelsey Warner, and Kylee and Colt Daniels.
He was preceded in death by his parents: J.C. and Ruth Ramsey; a son: J.J. Ramsey; a daughter-in-law: Tina Ramsey; and two infant sisters.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. today at Jeffers Funeral & Cremation Service, Afton Chapel.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with interment in Willoughby Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The Rev. Earl Bowlin will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Ramsey, Caleb Church, Johnathan Cravens, Andrew Harris. Eric Rupert, Matthew Gulley, and Sonny Lawson.
