FALL BRANCH -- Donald William "Bill" Baines, 70, Greeneville, went to be with the Lord at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday at his home.
Bill was born in Kingsport and grew up in Fall Branch. He moved to Greeneville in 1989.
He was a security guard at Parker-Hannifin in Greeneville until his retirement.
Bill served in the Tennessee National Guard.
He enjoyed playing the guitar and had played with various groups.
Bill was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved his church and church family.
His parents and daughter, Carol Ann Baines, preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years: Pat Baines of the home; a daughter: Sandra Conley of Kingsport; a son: the Rev. Chris Baines and wife, Debra, of Greeneville; three grandchildren: Shana Lynn, Matthew Baines, and Racheal Lynn; two great-grandchildren: Eli Braden and Roland Ray Potts; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the Fall Branch Chapel of Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, with services following at 8 p.m. in the chapel. The Rev. Jonathan Jones, the Rev. Chris Baines, and the Rev. Jeff Gibson will officiate.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in First Baptist Church of Fall Branch Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Baines, Daniel Laney, Bill Cox, Joe Doud, and Jerry Norton.
