MORRISTOWN -- Ruby V. Bowlin, age 81, of Whitesburg, went to be with the Lord Monday at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System.
She retired from the Hamblen County School System.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years: James Bowlin; her parents: John and Sally Odom; a grandson: Lucas Bowlin; and two sisters: Barbara Helton and Bessie Wells.
Survivors include her son: Roger (Cathy) Bowlin of Bulls Gap; her daughter: Christine (Roy) Duncan of Whitesburg; her grandchildren: Melissa (Keith) Maness, Amy (Chris) Wolfe, Lindsey (Shane) Ratliff, and Krystal Bowlin; her great-grandchildren: Brittany and Brianna Maness, Brooke and Seth Wolfe, Ryder and Cooper Ratliff, Mea Weems, and Chelsie Bowlin; a brother: Grant Odom of Flint, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Whitesburg with the Rev. Charlie Brewer, the Rev. Terry Bunch, and the Rev. Troy Duncan officiating. Interment will follow in Hamblen Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
