NEWPORT -- Kyle J. Tolliver Sr., age 66, of Greene County, passed away Thursday at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport.
He was a member of Bewley's Chapel United Methodist Church in Greene County.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years: Mary Ann Tolliver; five children and their spouses: Kyle Jr. and Trish Tolliver, Joey and Gina Tolliver, Matthew and Jessica Tolliver, Melissa and Mike Chambers, and Zora Holt and Shane Clevenger. He was blessed with 12 grandchildren, including a special grandson, Patrick Buckner, and eight great-grandchildren, whom he loved very much. He also had one brother; six sisters, five brothers-in-law, and two sisters-in-law; and several nieces, nephews, whom he loved with all his heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Jasper and Beulah Tolliver; a great-granddaughter: Piper Chambers; his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Bewley and Zora Toby; three brothers-in-law; and four sisters-in-law.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Manes Funeral Home in Newport with the funeral service following at 8 p.m. in the chapel. The Rev. Joe Phillips will officiate.
Burial will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday in Bewley's Chapel UM Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Bewley's Chapel UM Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manes Funeral Home toward funeral expenses.
The family expressed thanks to all the staff at the hospital, neighbors, family and friends for all their help and support during this time.
