Died: Dec. 8, 2013

Nellie Mae Boatwright, 69, of Mohawk, died Saturday at the home of her son.

She was employed by MECO for more than 15 years.

Ms. Boatwright was a member of Mountain Valley Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters: Melinda "Sissy" Breeden of Russellville and Sandy Delph of Georgia; two sons: Allen and Teresa Lane of the home, and Andy Carter of Cocke County; 11 grandchildren and their spouses: Amy Lane, Megan Rayon, Will and Mellissa Lane, Daisy and Jeff Hucklebee, Lisa and Gabe Shelton, Heaven McKinney, Daniel Carter, James and Nikki Delph, Marie and Bubba Marlow, Heather Jones, and Violet Delph; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister: Pauline Hicks; special friends to the family: Rose Adams and Jessie Adams; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Grover Carter; a daughter: Elizabeth Carter; a grandson: Henry Lane; her parents: Roy and Loretta Waldrop; and a brother-in-law: Wayne Hicks.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. today and Tuesday at Jeffers Funeral and Cremation Service downtown.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Creek Free Will Baptist Church with interment to follow in Cedar Creek Cemetery.

The Rev. Ronald Bunch will officiate, and music will be provided by Daniel Parrot.

Pallbearers will be Steve Holzerman, Steven Holzerman, Tom Ray, Ralph Ray, David Ray, and Patrick Horton.
