JOHNSON CITY - Phyllis Reed Sell,
of Jonesborough, a devout Christian who spent many hours studying God's word, went home to be with
her Heavenly Father on Monday.
She was a very giving, devoted and
loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother "Meme," and friend. She had a loving, generous heart to
friends, family, even strangers she came into contact with. Among her spiritual gifts were
friendship and giving and always with a smile.
She was a member of
Boones Creek Christian Church in Boones Creek.
Mrs. Sell was a native
and lifelong resident of Washington County. She was the daughter of the late Roy Hagan Reed Sr. and
Della Reed Norton.
In addition to her parents, one beloved son,
Michael Reed Sell; one sister, Sarah Louise Reed; one brother, Roy Hagan Reed Jr. also preceded her
in death.
Survivors include her loving husband of 51 years: Frank
Sell of the home; a daughter: Shannon Renee Sell of Knoxville; two sons: Joseph Adam Sell and
Barbara Toth Sell, and Franklin David Sell and wife, Vickie, all of Jonesborough; two sisters:
Margaret Reed Jones and husband, Allen, of Knoxville and Janice Reed Lunceford; one brother-in-law,
Marion Paul Sell and wife, Janice; one daughter-in-law: Amy Sell of Johnson City, a stepfather:
Police Norton of Jonesborough; one sister-in-law: Becky Reed of Knoxville; eight grandchildren:
Aaron Jamerson and wife, Kim, Lauren Kirkland and husband, Matthew, Alley Sell, Michael Todd Sell,
Jordan David Sell, Ashley Lauren Sell, Jacob Adam Sell and Tori Amber Sell; two great-grandchildren:
Kamyrn McMeans and Nora Jamerson; and many very special friends.
The
family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday in the Morris-Baker North Chapel prior to the 8
p.m. service.
Dick Morris will officiate.
The entombment service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Monte Vista Memorial
Park.
Pallbearers will be Hugo Cordova, Joe Morales, Sam Humphreys,
Luke Whitson, Butch Carmichael, and Allen Jones.
Honorary pallbearers
will be Jake Sell, Jordan, Sell, Michael Todd Sell and Aaron Jamerson.
The minister, family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 10:30
a.m. Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery.
