Howard Parton

Died: Dec. 26, 2012

Howard Parton, of Fremont, N.C., went to be with the Lord Wednesday, at the age of 89.

He was born and raised in Greeneville and was the son of the late Walter Parton and the late Lockie Loeffler.

He had served as pastor of a number of churches and was a carpenter.

Survivors include a son: Bobby Parton of Azle, Texas; his daughters and their husbands: Louise and Gaylon Vanhoese of Greeneville, Patricia Cantrell of Marshall, N.C., Carolyn Parton of Church Hill, and Marilyn and Allen Johnson of Erwin; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; his brother: JC Parton of Gas City, Ind.; his sisters: Dollie Fortner of St. Petersburg, Fla., Alyne Cutshaw of Greeneville, Junivee (Dick) Singleton of Fremont, and Judy (George) Wren of Greeneville; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Parton; and a brother, Edward Parton.

There will be no service.

It was his wish to be cremated and his ashes buried in Fremont.
