Lowanda Bright Gass

Lowanda Bright Gass, 89, of Yorkville, Ill., passed away Tuesday in Aurora, Ill.

Mrs. Gass was born and raised in Greene County and was a daughter of the late Lorana and Neil Bright.

She moved to Illinois with her family in 1957.

She loved to work in the yard and cook. She played the guitar and sang until the day she passed away. She took pride in everything she did.

Survivors include a daughter: Judy Gass Priar of Plano, Ill.; six grandchildren and their spouses: Tim Baker, Wendy Schwartz, Cindy and Mark Dobson, Mindy and Fred Hunter, Carrie and Doug Groner, and Bobby and Connie Olsen; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Willard Gass; a daughter: Jessie Chamberlain; two sisters: Carmen Justis and Mary Alice Johnson; and a granddaughter: Sheri Chamberlain.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at Jeffers Funeral & Cremation Service, downtown, with the funeral service following at noon in the chapel. The Rev. Ronnie Baxter will officiate.

Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Olsen, Erik Schwartz, and other family members and friends.
