Lois Harvey Dixon, age 88, of
Kingsport, the Fordtown community, passed away Saturday evening at Indian Path Hospital.
She was born and raised in Greeneville and was a daughter of the late
William I. "Bill" and Bessie Jane Fullen Harvey. Mrs. Dixon moved to Kingsport in 1940.
She was a member of Fordtown Baptist Church and the V.F.W. Auxiliary
Post No. 3382 and D.A.V. Auxiliary.
Mrs. Dixon was preceded in death
by her husband: Albert L. Dixon; son: Gary W. Dixon; parents: William and Bessie Fullen Harvey;
sisters: Helen Tinsley and Mary Lou Baxley; and one niece: Linda Tinsley.
Survivors include one sister: Betty Harvey Dunn; one daughter-in-law: Geri Dixon;
grandson: Leslie Dixon; granddaughter: Thera McCord and her husband, Erik; four
great-granddaughters: Macy and Erika McCord, and Jaleigh and Cadence Dixon; granddaughter-in-law:
Laura Dixon; seven nieces and their spouses: Cindy Parvin, Pam and George Morrison, Phyllis and
Jimmie Broyles, Patricia and David Jones, and Patience and Ricky Brown; one nephew and his wife:
Rocky and Darlene Baxley; six great-nieces; five great-nephews; one uncle: Kenneth Fullen; several
cousins; and her Fordtown Baptist Church family and Walkertown Presbyterian Church family.
Friends may call at their convenience after 9 a.m. Wednesday at
Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 1-3
p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the funeral service following at 3 p.m. in the chapel.
Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. The Rev. Bryan Moore and the Rev. Sam Smith will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Leslie Dixon, Erik McCord, Rocky Baxley, George
Morrison, David Jones and Neal Comer.
Honorary pallbearers will be
Samuel Dunn, Dustin Baxley, Nathan Parvin, Jason Jones, Phillip Lane, and Tom Taylor.
